ABOUT ME
Sarah Birkmeyer is a Houston - based actor, actor - combatant, dancer, and coinsure of terrible dad jokes. Currently she is finishing up her BFA in Acting and Directing from Stephen F Austin State University by studying European Theatre Arts with Rose Bruford College in London for the 2025/2026 academic school year. Sarah is known to be a “chameleon of the stage”, transforming to portray characters anywhere from angsty teen to heroic swordswoman. Once being called a “female Matthew Lillard”, Sarah throws herself into a variety of different roles, bringing her passion, empathy, professionalism, and humanity into every project she does.
When devising work, Sarah likes to use movement to express direct and abstract emotions, feelings, and senses with a variety of styles including autobiographical work, physical theatre, theatrical violence, and all types of dance. Her work aims to explore the struggles of living with mental illness, discovering sexuality, and the effects of gun violence upon children. Sarah is also an advocate for disabled and neurodivergent artists in the theatre world. As a disabled and neurodivergent artist herself, Sarah believes that the disabled and neurodivergent experience should not only be represented on the stage but also be recognized and addressed in the rehearsal room and production process as well.
When not on the stage, swinging a sword, or rolling around on the floor, Sarah enjoys crocheting, weightlifting, yoga, cross stitch, and developing new special skills to throw on her resume.
